Post paris blues. We woke up early and quickly threw all the gear together, ate another fabulous continental breakfast, and drank an extra cup of coffee. To the train station we went, making a small detour to send of the post cards (hopefully they arrive before we do). We were extremly early for our train, anticipating a confusing and long boarding process, which was once again way more simple then expected. After browsing around for a bit we got on our train and settled down for the 4 hour ride/nap. All went well, including transfers, until we exited the train a stop before our destination and had a panic attack for about 20mins before a train going to the exact same destination arrived! We hopped on without hesitation, and hoped no one would check our tickets (lucky for us they didnt).
We left the train station and were a little concerned about the fact that aix looked nothing like we expected, and the people seemed much ruder. So lacking assistance and direction, we wandered blind to our hostel. Got settled and mustered up the energy to take a quick walk through some nearby streets. As we wandered closer to the center of aix things started to look up, and we discovered all the beauty we had expected. We ended the night with a few french beers, and a little stroll.
A full day of markets, cafes and fountains tomorrow.
